No, Copernicus Did Not Remove Us from the Hub of the Universe

The significance of the earth and humanity, or our insignificance, does not hinge on age or "central" location. Read More ›

Please, NASA, No More Galileos!

The David Coppedge case stands as an egregious instance of intolerance toward scientific dissent, so much so that it merits your attention and action, for Caltech runs JPL under contract with NASA, a government agency, and is thus indirectly accountable to the electorate, by which I mean you, dear reader. New Film Exposes Bigotry and Junk Science of Early Twentieth-Century Darwinists

The scientific community can be dominated by a dogmatism that subverts rational thought and an honest evaluation of the evidence. Intriguingly, this truth seems to have been recognized by none other than John Scopes later in life. Read More ›

What Exactly Was Darwin’s Religion?

At first glance, that question may appear to pose an enigma. For the position that Charles Darwin believed in God is completely untenable. Yet it is certainly also true that Darwin was no arch-atheist. Read More ›

Darwin’s First Theist: Charles Kingsley and the Problem of Coherence

New Book Sheds Light on the “Dark Age”: The Religion vs. Science Myth Exposed

The alleged "ignorance" of the medieval Church whose cherished dogmas included the belief in a flat earth, geocentric theory of the universe, and a hidebound biblical literalism is all challenged with insight and skill by this Oxford/Cambridge graduate and PhD in the history of science. Alchemy, Marxism, and the future of Darwinism

I recently found myself in a conversation with two college undergraduates, both of them seniors in the natural sciences (physics and biochemistry, respectively). At one point we were discussing alchemy, which they knew as a pre-modern attempt to transmute lead into gold. I asked them whether they could name any famous alchemists. They could not, though one of them dimly recalled hearing of “someone whose name began with A.” I then predicted that Darwinian evolution would eventually fade into the same obscurity that now shrouds alchemy. Although I knew from previous conversations that my young friends were skeptical of Darwinian theory, they expressed considerable surprise at my prediction, if only because Darwinism is presently held in such high esteem by Read More ›

What’s Up with Ronald Numbers? An Analysis of the Darwinist Metanarrative in the Journal of Clinical Investigation (Part I)

[Editor’s Note: The three individual installments of this series can be seen here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3. The final complete article, What’s Up with Ronald Numbers? An Analysis of the Darwinist Metanarrative in the Journal of Clinical Investigation, can be found here.] Ronald Numbers is a widely respected historian of science. He is an exceptional scholar who has garnered the respect of people on all sides of this debate. However, a recent article in the Journal of Clinical Investigation, “Defending science education against intelligent design: a call to action,” co-authored by, among others, Ronald L. Numbers, Elliot Sober [anti-ID philosopher], and Terese Berceau [anti-ID legislator], gives one pause to wonder if Numbers is shifting his role from commentator, Read More ›
