The rap, of course, is that ID only stands on the sidelines of science, bellyaching about Darwinism’s never-ending series of triumphs. Talking with Sarah Chaffee on an episode of ID the Future, Dr. Gauger briefly outlines the research program at Biologic Institute, including work in the lab and in silico.

I’m not sure I’d heard the neat analogy Gauger offers about the rarity of functional protein folds, calculated by her colleague Doug Axe. Hitting upon one is akin to standing outside the Milky Way and trying to strike a single quark held in the hand of a bather lying on the shore of Lake Michigan. It’s that specific, mind-bogglingly beyond the reach of blind, unguided evolutionary groping.
Dr. Gauger also discusses ferment in the scientific world around the extended evolutionary synthesis. She explains why this bodes well for ID, including closeted design sympathizers currently at work in labs, temporarily keeping a low profile for fear of career-jeopardizing retaliation.
Oh yes, they exist, as we know well. I’m confident you’ll be hearing from them before very long. Evolution’s iron curtain will fall.
