This is pretty stereotype-shattering. I can’t claim to be a connoisseur of hip-hop, but we mentioned here last week that hip-hop artist Je’kob Washington is not only a thoughtful guy but also a fan of intelligent design. Here he is talking with syndicated radio host Chris Chicago of Jam the Hype about his interest in science, from Einstein to Paul Davies…to Stephen Meyer. Mr. Chicago is also a fan.
Find it here. This is just very charming and refreshing. The context is a discussion of Je’kob’s new album, The Other Side of the Sky. Je’kob provided some excerpts of lectures by Dr. Meyer, who has been known to jam the hype himself from time to time. Chris Chicago observes, “You sent me some clips from this dude earlier this week and I was like, ‘Dang!’ Those are the kind of clips where you’re like, ‘Bang! Check that out!'”
Who could say it better? Je’kob has read Darwin’s Doubt, or part of it anyway, and in reflecting on the book’s argument does more credit to himself than some other folks, including scientists, that I can think of. Bang! Check that out.
