If fiery pro-evolution pastor Michael Dowd didn’t exist, it would surely be well past time for someone to invent him, for the entertainment value if nothing else. Rev. Dowd is the author of Thank God for Evolution, who preaches against the “evil” of “anti-science fundamentalists” who threaten to create “hell on Earth,” and much more along similar lines. In a relatively sober statement from his office we read:

Dowd sharply criticizes spending nearly $1 billion in public money to fund religious schools that teach students to reject the discoveries of modern biology, geology, and cosmology as threats to religious faith. He cites fundamentalist attacks on Neil deGrasse Tyson’s Cosmos series as an example of the war that some Christian leaders are waging against science.

So daring to criticize Cosmos is evidently a manifestation of nefarious anti-science fundamentalism!
What could be better than an hourlong conversation and debate between the Rev. Mr. Dowd and our own Stephen Meyer, author of Darwin’s Doubt, moderated by Michael Medved? Tune in today to the Medved Show at 2 pm Pacific/5 pm Eastern, or listen online here.
