Science and Culture Today Discovering Design in Nature

Contact Test

We receive quite a number of daily messages, and although every message is reviewed by our staff, we unfortunately do not have the capacity to reply to all of them.

We really appreciate your interest in our work. If you haven’t already, we invite you to subscribe to our weekly Nota Bene newsletter, or to any of the other email newsletters published by our Center for Science & Culture.

Fortunately, the majority of the questions we receive are already answered in resources developed and published on our website. While much is available on the Center for Science & Culture’s Frequently Asked Questions page, here’s a quick summary of the most frequent email inquiries and our responses, with links to helpful information:

Q. How may I host one of your Fellows to speak at an event in my area?

A. We’re glad you’d like to host us! Please fill out our Speaker Request form, and submit it for our staff to review.

Q. How may I interview one of your Fellows for a media outlet?

A. We’re glad you’d like to interview our fellows. Please fill out our Media Request form, and submit it for our staff to review.

Q. Who may I talk to about my charitable giving to Discovery Institute?

A. Thank you for your generosity! For questions about your giving and your donor account, contact our Development Director Kelley Unger via email, or call (206) 292-0401 ext. 1260.

Q. How may I get permission to re-use your material in a publication, at an event, or in some other context?

A. Thank you for promoting intelligent design (ID) to those in your sphere of influence! Please fill out our Permission for Reuse of Materials form, and submit it for our staff to review.

Q. How may I get permission to translate one of your books, articles, or films?

A. Thank you for offering to translate our work! Please fill out our Translation Permission Request form, and submit it for our staff to review.

Q. How may I request a review copy of a Discovery Institute Press book?

A. Thank you for your interest in reviewing a book by Discovery Institute Press. Please fill out our Review Copy Request form and submit it for our staff to review.

Q. I heard about your Summer Seminars and I think I may be eligible to attend. How can I apply?

A. Every January, we open up the application for our Summer Seminars held in Seattle in July. Please visit our Summer Seminars page to review eligibility requirements and start your application.

Q. What resources do you have on ID that are suitable for middle and high school students?

A. We’ve developed curricular materials that are available through our store. Additionally, we have an increasing amount of content on our YouTube channel, including our Science Uprising series, which is designed for an adolescent and young adult audience. We also host ID Education Days and other Events, which are announced on our website. For resources related to teaching evolution in the public school system, please refer to our Science Education Policy.

Q. I’m working on a paper or a project and I need information about a topic related to your work. Can you help me?

A. Absolutely! In addition to numerous books, DVDs, and online materials, we have a searchable archive of thousands of articles available for your reference. You are welcome to access and cite these appropriately in your own work.

Q. How can I contact one of your Fellows about something he or she said in a book, article, lecture, or interview?

A. Our Fellows maintain full schedules of teaching, research, writing, interviews, and speaking engagements. Since we cannot promise their ability to respond, their email addresses are not available publicly. Common questions about their work are typically addressed either in their previous or subsequent books or article, or in books or articles by another Fellow. Using our website to search an Author or Keywords related to a publication will often lead to answers. In addition to our searchable database, we have devoted a Responses to Critics page to consolidate our Fellows’ responses to the most common questions about our work. If your inquiry is in response to our work but not already addressed in our afore-mentioned resources, it may be shared with our research staff or Fellows for their consideration.

Q. There’s an article/book I’ve found or authored myself that I’d like to share with you. Will your staff and Fellows be able to study it and share your feedback?

A. We’re grateful to a wide network of both credentialed scientists and laypeople who share in our efforts to promote ID! We would like to consult one-on-one with everyone, but our ability is very limited. As a nonprofit organization supported almost exclusively by private donors, we seek to maximize resources and impact by planning a full schedule of events, media production, and publications. This is accomplished by a fairly small staff, many of whom are not full-time. Unfortunately, reading, reviewing, and advising on books, articles, and other materials proposed by those outside our network of Fellows is not a service that we have the capacity to offer.

Q. Will you please fix a typo or a broken link that I found on one of your web pages?

A. Thank you for drawing this to our attention! We will share your message with our web staff.
